Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 kdenlive 0.7.7.1-0ubuntu1 ffmpeg 4:0.5.1-1ubuntu1 melt 0.5.4-1 Kdenlive renders white artifacts in black areas of the image - both in preview and output video, no matter which format is chosen. This was reported here: http://www.kdenlive.org/mantis/view.php?id=1509 and here: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=613414&aid=2972137&group_id=96039 and appears to be a problem with melt.
