This problem still occurs in fully updated 10.04 LTS, just verified it. I was connected to the network on both wlan0 and eth0 (different networks for both IPv4 and IPv6), and unplugging eth0 made IPv4 addresses go away but the IPv6 addresses (and routes) were still present so all IPv6 traffic was blackholed. I had to manually delete both IPv6 address and default and subnet route to eth0 to get IPv6 working again.
