It seems it's not so.
After upgrading to Lucid the problem stays, perhaps it's even worse - it didn't
recognize the soundcard even once.
Other than that, problem description stays exactly the same. I've tried purging
PA and all its auxiliary packages, then reinstalled it, with no change.
Again, ALSA works ok, but I must remove PA to get sound, else the mixer doesn't
work.
