Hello again Everyone, I was able to make it work. I guess it was not an Ubuntu issue.
I went into my router configuration and I changed the 2.4Ghz Channel from Auto to Channel 3 (I guess you can see which one works best for you). After performing this change my WUSB54G started to work again.
