It seems to be working OK for me now - I had tried to add some DVDs with
apt, the first one was added OK, but it could't find anything on the
second disk. When I looked in Dolphin (I'm using Kubuntu) it didn't
have the Dist and Pool directories but was showing only the a-z folders
subdirectory. When I put the third disk in it just showed some deb
files, so it is not reading the directory structure properly.

When I removed the apt mount folder and rebooted and didn't put a
repository disk in the drive then it appears to work OK with other
disks. However, if I do put a repository disk in there then any
subsequent disk isn't read properly if at all. It is as though apt
mounts the drive then doesn't unmount it properly so it cannot be used
for anything else.

So for me it seems as if apt is causing the problems.
