Would the fix be as simple as having just the type ("Picture or Image
File" or "Video File") in the dialog, and having a tooltip pop up that
shows the various extensions available in that format? Or would that
create a different paper cut (in that people may be used to seeing
things a certain way--especially former Windows users)?
