Did you check that you don't have another version installed/built
manually in /usr/local, or somewhere else in your PATH? (I already
asked, but you didn't reply).

Well, it works perfectly fine here on lucid 64bits, so obviously, it has
been tested… (and maybe you should stop making such unverified
statements).
