I am having this problem too. I am also using 10.04 - 64 bit. Never had
this problem with previous versions of ubuntu including 9.10

My movie also does not play in totem anymore, but it does play in vlc
and mplayer. Totem tries to install the 'bad set' but than still can not
play the movie. My movie was made with ffmpeg using mpeg4 encoding and
an avi container.

guessed conclusion:
ffmpeg plugin for gstreamer is broken?

work around:
convert the movie to different format using on the commandline
$ffmpeg -i mymovie.avi mynewmovie.mpg

Than insert that in ooffice impress and it plays. (if it doesn't play it
first in totem, to make sure the right codec is installed).
