On my Eeepc 701 4G : I just have to set /apps/gnome-power-manager/notify/low_capacity = false to avoid the 1% warning popup at startup. Mine never attempted to shutdown because of that (even if low_capacity flag is left to true, just pops up the warning). Bios revision is 1302, 03/11/09 EC firmware version is EPC-089
On my Eeepc 1005PE : Works out of the box, no tweak needed.
