I'm having what I think is the same problem with the gnome version of
OpenOffice.org impress. As far as I can tell, THERE IS CURRENTLY NO WAY
TO DRAG, COPY, OR PASTE SLIDES in openoffice.org. Dragging them from one
point in the presentation to another makes oo.o freeze completely.
Cutting or copying does not add them to the clip board. Until these
problems are fixed, this program is essentially useless because you
can't rearrange slides in a presentation. I'm stunned that bugs like
this in a major application can stay open for months.
I'm having this problem pretty consistently with Lucid. Every once in a
while I am fortunate enough to drag a slide without crashing oo.o, but
this is rare.
