Hi, I think you're right. There is a side effect. ejabberdctl script check for /var/lib/ejabberd/.erlang.cookie to modify HOME var. It may be a bad idea to move it.
My first reaction was "I won't symlink from /var/lib/ejabberd for a disk usage preference, but there is a user and a home, and home contains data, let's move the home, all will be fine" After the usermod -m -d /home/ejabberd ejabberd, well, things was not fine. So I just followed my first idea to solve problems without re asking myself if I was in the right path to do that. Sorry for invalid bug. -- ejabberd home shouldn't be hardcoded in start()/stop() init script function https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/578318 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
