Public bug reported:

Using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS x86 on a Vmware ESXi 3.5 virtual machine after running "
sudo apt-get purge 'deborphan' " to remove unused packages then rebooting the
virtual machine the network stops working.
The network card receives an IP from the dhcp server ping/echo works but any
other kind of connection cannot be established.
I'm wondering if deborphan marked a library as unused even if needed for
communication purposes.
I used deborphan 1.7.28ubuntu1
