After installing electricsheep ( 2.7~b12+svn20091224-1ubuntu1 ) on Lucid, power management settings to turn off monitor after x idle time were no longer heeded. Other users of electricsheep have reported similar problems: http://community.electricsheep.org/node/572 Doing a complete uninstall of electricsheep seems to resolve this issue.
