I suffer the same problem with Ubuntu 10.04 (32 bit and already installed).
I get the login dialog, but when I press the login button, X is restarted and I get the login dialog again (up to the sixth of seventh time, that only the login dialog disappears and only the background is displayed [no X server restart]). I don't know how it happened, but it might be due to an upgrade. Which files are needed? I mean also directories. Is there a workaround not to start X, login and then start X? Thanks for your help, Pablo (BTW, the importance should be set to critical, since the system is unusable.) -- Login failure loop with Ubuntu 10.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/567029 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
