Public bug reported: After installing a theme, the theme is nowhere visible in the theme selector (Preferences->Appearance->Theme).
DEMO: Preferences->Appearance->Theme Click "Get more themes online" near the bottom (opens http://art.gnome.org/themes/ in Firefox). Click "Window Borders" in the web page. Click "Download" for any theme When Firefox's save dialog pops up, select "run Theme Installer" After installation, the theme is not visible. It appears to over-write "Custom" instead. Clicking "Save As" in Preferences->Appearance->Theme and giving a different name does not make that name visible either.
