Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dmraid

I'm trying to install 10.04 on my machine, which is using the builtin
fakeraid thingy on the motherboard.

Towards the end of the setup, it fails with the error "Could not install
grub on /dev/sda. This is a fatal error". Setup then provides me with a
dialog to choose where I want to install GRUB to; I chose
/dev/mapper/nvidia_cccdcigb which I think is the correct device node to
install GRUB to. Setup then briefly tries again before failing with the
same error (still saying /dev/sda).

I think it is resolving the device node incorrectly, from the virtual
device-mapper node to the underlying node of the first hard drive in the
RAID set. Ideally it would detect it automatically, but I am a bit
surprised that it continues to do that even after I've explicitly
pointed it at a given node.

I'm not sure what I can attach in regard to some kind of helpful log or
whatever; the installer didn't volunteer anything and obviously Ubuntu
won't boot itself.

** Affects: dmraid (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
