The same error remains in Ubuntu Lucid. The estimation input data was removed
and this made OpenOffice poor.

On Lucid OpenOffice when I try to calc the interest rate from data bellow, I
get wrong
answer to i = -185,49%
to nper = 12; fv = 0; pv = -1500; pmt =
500; type = 0.
I know that
both numbers (i = -185,49% and i = 32,16%) solve the problem above. The problem
has two solutions and both answers
solve the same data problem. But, with my HP 12 C, I do not need
to worry about that because it always gives me the wright answer.

On OpenOffice Calc I think the function Interest Rate or TAXA() in Br
language start to search for a number that solves equation from negative
number to positive number and it stops when find the first number that
solves equation (i= -185,49% in the case above).

I suggest to change the function Interest Rate to the Boolean method to
start to search for solution number from zero to negative -10,000 and at
the same time (use multiple cores processor) search from zero to
positive number +10,000. Keep all possible answers on RAM memory and
present all possible answers (in a macro way or flash way) and let users
to choose the most likely answer.
