Disabling kms by appending radeon.modeset=0 to kernel command line seems to help. I had 7 clean reboots now. Actually everything is working fine, but a big part of lxde-logout is now covered by a grey square. After I switched to fglrx in karmic and decided to use radeon again, I had something similar in xdm (a black bar covering parts of the password field). Is there any chance to fix this? (see screenshot)
Mostly I wouldn´t have been able to use kms due to bug 15166 of kernel bugzilla, but I knew what I had to avoid, so it was not such an issue. https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15166 ** Bug watch added: Linux Kernel Bug Tracker #15166 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15166 ** Attachment added: "screenshot of lxde-logout dialogue" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/48470003/lxde-logout.png -- The boot process breaks randomly at some point, although X starts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/579689 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
