This is on a Thinkpad X30, running Xubuntu 10.04, with all updates as of the time of this post - hardly a power monster, but I know that it is more than capable of playing a 320x200 video...!
I have tested in Chromium. Flash performance is fine - unless something else happens. If I move the mouse, frame rate drops to 2fps, tops. If it actually has to draw something else on the screen... well, we'll just leave that alone. On one of my son's games, it was so bad that the audio started stuttering as well. I also tested playing a .wmv file in Totem. The video is Windows Media v7 file at 408Kbps, and the audio is WMA v8 at 97Kbps. This file plays perfectly; I can get a little bit of stutter by doing something like dragging a terminal window back and forth across Totem while it's playing. r...@nymph:~# lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available.
