Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: grub
After an apt-get update that updates the kernel image, the system won't
boot, my system immideatly reboots when the kernel is going to be
loaded. At the Ubuntu forums another user experienced about the same
problem, only he says he gets an error 22 from grub, and the system
refuses to boot further.
Steps to reproduce:
1: apt-get update when there's a new kernel image available
2: Reboot
3: Problem occurs
I know what causes this problem, update-grub adds a 'savedefault' command to
every boot option.
To be able to boot, I need to remove the savedefault command trough the
grub console.
After that I remove it in menu.lst
So well, it is temporarily fixed, but I hate doing this whole procedure
over and over again And this isn't really nice to people new to
linux/ubuntu.
