Sorry, I seem to have missed the activity on this bug. 
I tried to suspend on the latest feisty kernel and this time it actually worked.
That is, until I tried to resume. The machine never returns out of the S3 
State. Instead both the HDD and Power LEDs flashes with a steady light and all 
fans max out. Additionally the machine didn't restore itself on a normal power 
cycle. I actually needed to pull the cord out to make it boot again.
