Evince is primarily intended as viewer and printer for PDF documents and
Postscript documents. It also handles a few other things, such as DVI
documents, DjVu documents, TIFF documents and somewhat suprisingly,
Impress (presentation) slides. For odt, ods, rtf, xls and doc files I
recommend that you use OpenOffice. If you want you can also use
OpenOffice to convert these files to PDF.
