Public bug reported:
I'm using 10.4, Lucid Lynx.
If I put in some rewriteable DVDs that my drive cannot really read and I
try to eject in Nautilus I got the following popup window:
Unable to eject My Pictures
A job is pending on /dev/sr0
Let's see some related processes hoping that they'll help debugging this
issue:
l...@nitehawk:~/backup/linode$ ps -ef | grep sr0
root 6264 6196 0 15:03 ? 00:00:00 hald-addon-storage: no polling
because /dev/sr0 is locked via O_EXCL
root 9779 5235 0 16:59 ? 00:00:00 /sbin/blkid -o udev -p -u
noraid /dev/sr0
laci 9781 5953 0 16:59 ? 00:00:00 udisks-helper-fstab-mounter
mount /dev/sr0 1000
root 9782 9781 0 16:59 ? 00:00:00 mount /dev/sr0
Pushing the eject button on the drive doesn't help.
"sudo eject" doesn't help.
"sudo kill -9 6264 9779 9781 9782; sudo eject" doesn't help.
Restarting my laptop does help, however.
This issue truly infuriates me and it's a paramount example of why Linux
is not ready for prime time.
