I am seeing exactly the same behaviour in xsensors 0.46 (xsensors 0.46-1ubuntu1). I have lm-sensors installed on the Edgy system, and successfully ran sensors-detect, inserted the appropriate modules, and then ran sensors. Sensor on the command line shows coherent and reasonable data. Running XSensors behaves exactly this way.
When run from the command line - I do note that I see: Sensor 'it8712' not supported by xsensors! When I close it - the standard "Segmentation fault (core dumped)" message is shown.
