Thanks for the response. I have no idea what it means, however. This stuff is over my head. I've been happily using Ubuntu on this machine for the past 5 versions. I also have a Sony Vaio desktop that's working fine with 10.4 LTS, though it has older hardware. I'm sure it's time to upgrade but I'm just not in the market for it. One of the factors that led me to Linux in the first place, for which I have no regrets.
