Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

I am using thinclients to connect to my ubuntu 8.10 (with gdm) which I
have connected to a simple switch where other thinclients are also
connected. apart from thinclients and ubuntu machine I have also
connected a broadband adsl. normally the connection works very smoothly
but problem begins when my broadband is down for some reason and ubuntu
8.10 machine is not able to find the dns which is available in
resolv.conf. because of this problem i am not able to connect my
thinclients to ubuntu 8.10 machine. again if I remove the dns entry from
resolv.conf it works fine.

** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
