Hi and thanks for the reply. The inactivity comes from the fact that I didn't had any other information to provide. I recently installed opensuse 11.2 on this machine and I observed the same behavior, except that the system clock wasn't automatically adjusted when I connected to Internet. Yesterday I reinstalled Kubuntu Lucid LTS and I observe the same issue: system clock doesn't work right and gets corrected when I connect to Internet. I will try the latest development release you mentioned and report back. I have no idea how to test the upstream kernel which you are talking about (I think I must take the time for reading the wiki you pointed to). I am using this machine as production machine and it would not be very productive for me and for my studies to install/reinstall things every day. Sorry for the inconvenience.
