Restart might work, but to restart your whole system just to add a panel? That's...ahmmm...too brutal omho. You might as well say that it's ok if you have to restart after adding a launcher to the Desktop in order to see it. :P This is obviously a bug and it happens to me too. Adding a panel creats an invisible panel. You can see that there's something because the window frames of the applications when maximized hang to it and can't go further. I like using panles and don't want to install additional docking tools for the very same thing that a simple panel can do. Will have a look at the fix that's up and running according to Burt.P.
