Hi, I actually just submitted this report because the system asked me to! The red kerneloops icon popped up in my notification area, I clicked on it, and it said there had been some sort of error.
It didn't cause any problems I'm aware of, except it's not particularly nice to get warnings about errors you know nothing about! Is my system failing? etc. Yes, it's been a problem since then. The icon keeps popping up, usually shortly after a reboot. I just click cancel to make it go away. I haven't updated my system for a while. However, perhaps the best way to fix this bug properly (seeing as I'm unable to describe what the real bug was) is to make the actual error message a little more specific, and a little more helpful for a non- technical user. (I happen to be a fairly technical user, but I still really like non- technical messages, because I'm no kernel guru!) -- WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.31/fs/buffer.c:1152 mark_buffer_dirty+0x70/0x90() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/561126 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
