When the updates are run it 'should' fix the issue; however it may be best to keep watch on what is being updated.
If you see an update for ghostscript, pstopdf, cups, lpr, etc... (basically updates that deal with printing) you may want to restore that file from the backup you created and then run the update. (This may or may not be necessary, but this is the safest bet.) Or just update your system on a regular basis (as you have) and eventually restore the backup and see if the issue is fixed. >From the testing I have done for the past week now; everything seems to be going great with the fix I have implemented on my test machine.
