My computer (512MB ram might be the cause) is starting much faster without/when reprofiling ureadahead too. plymouth sometimes even comes up _AFTER_ kdm.
However, for people around me "starting" means time between grub and login screen. suggestion: Would it be possible to use ureadahead only for kde/qt/gtk/gnome/.... part of the boot? Preloading kde when idle at kdm screen seems much more reasonable to me than doing that during boot and slowing it down quite a lot -- Boot speed increased from 30s to 50s when ureadahead enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/552165 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
