It happens the same to me.

I have a ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO Motherboard with a SB710 chipset and Lucyd
Lynx (Linux nexus 2.6.32-22-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 28 13:28:05
UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux).

It happens when I try to open me-tv to watch dvb. The program freezes and yells
some error I can't remember right now, I'm not in front of my box, but it's
related to some kind of read timeout. I unplug my dvb-t stickit but it does not
unload related modules, and if I try to plug another usb device, it does not
work. Even the tiny green light of my usb drive does not flash, as if it could
get power from the USB port.
These are the modules loaded:

dvb_usb_dib0700 71047 0
dib7000p 18348 2 dvb_usb_dib0700
dib7000m 15907 1 dvb_usb_dib0700
dib0070 8549 2 dvb_usb_dib0700
dvb_usb 16709 1 dvb_usb_dib0700
dib3000mc 12997 1 dvb_usb_dib0700
dib8000 26879 1 dvb_usb_dib0700
dibx000_common 3570 4 dib7000p,dib7000m,dib3000mc,dib8000
dvb_core 102929 3 dib7000p,dvb_usb,dib8000

This is the dmesg output:
