Public bug reported: Binary package hint: phpmyadmin
I was trying to install LAMP using the instructions found on http://www.howtoforge.com/ubuntu_lamp_for_newbies These instructions worked fine on 9.10 I installed Apache2 and PHP5 no problem. Then I installed MySQL using: sudo apt-get install mysql-server And finally I installed phpmyadmin: sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-auth-mysql php5-mysql phpmyadmin But phpmyadmin was never able to read the mysql password table. I always got the error: 1290 - The MySQL server is running with the --skip-grant-tables option so it cannot execute this statement So I went to uninstall phpmyadmin and got this bug. It seems that there are problems with mysql and Lucid Lynx.
