I have exactly the same problem here, as described by Allan. (Config: fresh lucid amd64 install)
I added a line in my fstab to mount a portable USB hard disk (ext3) on a specific dir when inserted: UUID=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx /media/neo ext3 nobootwait, optional, user,rw,suid, dev, exec, auto, async, relatime 00 As soon as disk is connected, mountall goes up 100%. The same USB disk, mounted on a Karmic machine does not reproduce the problem. When removing the line from fstab, disk is mounted on /media/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (uuid of disk) and mountall stays quiet. Putting back the line, problem shows up again. It's a bit annoying, as I want this disk always mounted on /media/neo, I need the "nobootwait, optional" args in fstab. -- mountall eats 100% cpu with nfs in fstab https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574044 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
