The cause of the problems was a change of data mode of the ext3 root file
system:
a while ago I had changed it in /etc/fstab to:
data=ordered
with this kernel i must changed it to
data=writeback
and now with lucid, it must changed back to
data=ordered
or leave the value empty for a succesfull boot.
(now you can see it in a message some lines before to boot stops.
