I saw Bugzilla Bug #14543 https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14543 (and also https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16006) which describe an ata flush bug that has been committed to Ubuntu kernel 2.6.33 and later. The commit message is http://mirror.celinuxforum.org/gitstat//commit- detail.php?commit=6013efd8860bf15c1f86f365332642cfe557152f
I have installed Ubuntu mainline 2.6.34 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com /~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.34-lucid/ following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/MainlineBuilds. I do not know if this is a fix - if anyone has a scenario that freezes affected systems, but should not freeze a correct installation, then I will test it. The freeze-initiating script on the Bugzilla bug above does not freeze my affected (kernel 2.6.32) system. (This now exhibits Launchpad Bug #324894, "Corrupted low memory" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/324894 but I do not know how serious that is) ** Bug watch added: Linux Kernel Bug Tracker #14543 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14543 ** Bug watch added: Linux Kernel Bug Tracker #16006 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16006 -- resume from suspend does not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/568711 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
