try:
1. make sure openoffice is closed
2. remove openoffice completely by, sudo apt-get remove --purge openoffice.org*
ure uno-libs3
3. Reboot (or logoff) for good measure.
4. Reinstall OpenOffice by, sudo apt-get install openoffice.org-calc
openoffice.org-draw openoffice.org-emailmerge openoffice.org-gnome
openoffice.org-gtk openoffice.org-impress openoffice.org-math
openoffice.org-style-human openoffice.org-writer
Please report back if this helps solve the issue (or if it doesn't).
