I agree with you in principal and OpenOffice is working to make better
compatiblity. However in this specific case, I checked the original in MS Word
2003 and it looks quite bad already. Something appears off with the specific
file...
In any event I switched the pictures to use the more reliable "As Character"
Anchoring. Please see if this works better. All editing was down with
OpenOffice
