Chris: I mispoke on my initial repsonse. Openoffice.org Base did not come installed when I upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04. I had had it installed in 9.10. I had to install Base separately. I remember I was not too thrilled about this.
I removed all components of openoffice,org, and installed the openoffice.org meta package with Synaptic Program Manager, plus the Sun Report Builder. I opened up a database, used the report wizard to create a new report. After creating the report and displaying it, the program hung completely. I had to use xkill to kill the program. Maybe there is something wrong with my system. As an aside, I do not care for the look and feel of the openoffice.org package that I re-installed. It has the look and feel of Windows, not Ubuntu Linux.
