Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
At startup of Lucid (10.04 LTS) on a HP 530 I get several errors before the
splash screen.
They seem generated by X server (xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.9.1-3ubuntu5).
The last logs from dmesg before the errors are:
[ 7.567701] [drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20080730 for 0000:00:02.0 on minor 0
[ 7.839899] vga16fb: initializing
[ 7.839904] vga16fb: mapped to 0xc00a0000
[ 7.839908] vga16fb: not registering due to another framebuffer present
[ 8.071269] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: power state changed by ACPI to D0
[ 8.071283] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ
16
[ 8.071313] HDA Intel 0000:00:1b.0: setting latency timer to 64
Then the errors in continuous loops:
[ 8.156368] render error detected, EIR: 0x00000010
[ 8.156373] page table error
[ 8.156376] PGTBL_ER: 0x00000000
...
[ 109.280781] render error detected, EIR: 0x00000010
[ 109.280787] page table error
[ 109.280789] PGTBL_ER: 0x00000000
Finally the system boots and seems to work normally.
>From one startup to another the number of occurrence of the error may vary
>from some seconds to around 2 minutes.
