There is the same problem with 'bridge' interfaces.

and an internal bridge in /etc/network/interfaces defined as:

iface virbr0 inet static
address 10.0.0.1
netmask 255.0.0.0
bridge_ports none
bridge_stp off
bridge_waitport 0
