Rudel was installed AFTER I attempted to install emacs twice -- with the results I have posted here. Since emacs is at least somewhat functional I reinstalled rudel because I use it. Not having it installed did not change the install problem.

Try uninstalling or upgrading that; see the attachments for additional debugging information. I'm setting the Status of this bug report to Invalid because it does not seem that there is a problem in Ubuntu itself. If this is an incorrect analysis, it is of course easy to set the bug's status back to New. I'm guessing you are using the packages pointed to from http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/Rudel -- try to get in touch with the maintainer of those packages, and of course, feel free to point to this bug report. ** Changed in: emacs23 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid ** Changed in: emacs23 (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => New -- package emacs23 23.1+1-4ubuntu7 failed to install/upgrade: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/581127 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
