I think there is still room for improvement here. I have a dual-screen setup and the panel was not on the monitor that I wanted it on. I could not figure out how to move to the second monitor. I tried right clicking on it and dragging it, but neither works. The Alt-Drag workaround mentioned here works, but there is no way to discover it. I even searched the related Gnome help!
