Public bug reported:

If you use and autofilter (when it works again ;-) and delete or cut,
for example, rows 12 to 14 (with row 13 hidden), row 13 also gets
deleted. This means data gets unintentionally deleted and this is not
how any version of Excel behaves.

This is an issue with the official build of OOo since the very beginning:
http://sc.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=2977 - 4 years old now

however there is a patch for ooo-build to fix this issue!

http://www.go-oo.org/patches/src680/sc-no-delete-filteredrows.diff
(see last comment on http://sc.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=33851)

Can we have this patch applied to the Ubuntu build please - it is too
critical for offices (such as mine) to use OOo in this state when users
are inadvertently deleting large amounts of data.

     Importance: Untriaged
         Status: Unconfirmed
