I tried two "Canon powershot A710 IS", one "Canon EOS 1000D", one "Canon EOS 450", one "Lumix G1" and i don't remember for the others. On the computer i am actually using, i just tried a Canon Powershot A710 IS. On french and american forums, i saw that this bug has appeared sometime. The solution was always to unmont the camera and then to import. This worked until i tried to uninstall and reinstall libgphoto2.2. After reinstall, my camera isnt mounted by system (so impossible to unmount) but it is still impossible to import pictures from the camera. I had installed Xubuntu-desktop and Kubuntu-desktop, and with both, import works without any problem.
