At least on my configurations, Ubuntu, X, & K 20070322 do eject now. If I'm running "safe graphics mode" on IBM NetVista, OEM Intel 845G video, to get 1280x1024 the LCD screen goes black on shutdown and the clue Ubuntu is still running is the CD drawer ejects. I then assume it's asking for Enter, screen is still totally black, I push enter, and the system does shut down.
So I think the problem as originally reported, no eject, is fixed, for whoever decides to amend the heading. By the way, Shutdown on two bare bones systems does not power off while Dapper did. All U, K, X buntu's power off the three IBM NetVista, ThinkCentre, and Thinkpad systems. This is another anklebiter bug advantage Dapper. Cheers, Jerry -- feisty shutdown eject doesn't https://launchpad.net/bugs/84592 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
