Luke, I am running the same card on my desktop in VGA mode without any issues, my issue is with the laptop which is running an Intel video chipset.
Our issues are not related but I can offer my observations and recommendations. The issue with you not seeing the BIOS is most likely because the card is switching modes to find the correct output at the same time that the BIOS messaged should be displayed. You should still be able to enter BIOS by hitting the proper key when it is switching the modes afte you power it on. The issue with you not seeing the bootloader is in response a modification in your grub bootloader displaying on a resolution that your card does not recognize on that port, I beleive that DVI relays additional infromation and at that stage the system is unable to retain sufficient information to load the requested video mode. If you modify your grub configuration file to use the default resolution you should be able to see the bootloader. -- -Thank You, -Matthew Fillpot -Moderator for Linux.com -- Long delay with blank screen during boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/563480 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
