Out of the box, sleep does not work on the 2Ghz Macbook(for me anyway).
According to this site:
http://bin-false.org/?p=17
"sleep: I did three things to get this to work:

1. Because of the remarks on http://desrt.mcmaster.ca/macbook.xhtml, I
renamed the S10acpid symlinks in /etc/rcn.d to S04acpid.

2. I enabled ACPI_SLEEP and LAPTOP_MODE in /etc/default/acpi-support.

3. I activated ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE_ON_AC and
ENABLE_LAPTOP_MODE_WHEN_LID_CLOSED in /etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf.
Then I restarted /etc/init.d/latop-mode and /etc/init.d/acpid. Maybe
some of this voodoo was unnecessary."
