I have the same bug : une Lucid on samsung nc10 that is a new installation before I used normal lucid version (not the special lucid netbook edition) and no problems
the panel is just so transparency : I can use the applet ...but I can see them!! as lori "I have discovered that when they disappear, I can go to System > Appearance and select a different theme.
