Thank you for your help. My Netbook has now synced fully, downloading
the remaining three files from U1 and updating the icons correctly.
I tried the same thing with my desktop, but it is still giving problems.
U1 icon shows the un-synced emblem. and one file has not been downloaded
even though Ubuntiu One Preferences reports all files are synced.

I think the best thing to do is file a new bug report for the desktop,
and hope something turns up in the logs.
